It’s That Easy

Writing is easy.  All you have to do is sit at a typewriter and open a vein.

  1. Some people find sitting down at the typewriter the difficult part, as perhaps they can’t seem to “find the time”. I find the hardest part is opening the vein – sure I can always write when I want to, but it’s finding my true voice that is sometimes difficult.

Thanks for the thought-provoking quote today~

  2. When I’ve read the quote, I always focused on the “vein” and didn’t think about the “sitting down at the typewriter” part. But right!, finding the time isn’t so easy either.

    Thanks for visiting ~

  3. Ouch!

Let it bleed, let it bleed . . . Oh, o, oh, let it bleed . . . whisper words of wisdom . . . let it bleed!

thanks to Paul and John, who probably opened a few veins while writing their version.

    • Now I’ll always hear the “Let It Bleed” version! Mother Mary comes to me…

(…yes, thanks Paul and John and…)

Thanks, Michael J., for coming to my blog!

  4. Damn, I should have kept the typewriter…maybe that would keep me from cleaning windows…that’s how bad my “not-knowing-what-to-write-and-it’s-anyway-no-good-blockade” is. You see, window cleaning is NOT on my to-do list, not ever… 😉

    • I hear ya’!! I had a very clean house ’til NaNo finally kicked through my blocks & got me in front of the Mac (never could write on a PC, would have been willing to try a typewriter too…anything!) Good luck at the keyboard~ Thanks for stopping by~

Julia Cameron calls it “The Vein of GOLD”!
    It bleeds magic and beauty!
